information and inspiration
Oh my goodness! It seems such a long time ago now, but the night of Friday 15th October 2010 is surely one that I will remember for a long, long time. The Pink Buddies Ball at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London was 18 months in the planning and over in 5 hours!
The evening went without a hitch, everything running smoothly and all the Buddies making an appearance and pitching in to help out. All the attendees looked glamourous and the venue had been decorated to look amazing also - see some pictures here taken by our photographer for the evening, Sean Desmond.
Going into dinner, our host for the evening was Paul Farris, of Paul Farris Entertainments who got things going with a rousing game of "Heads and Tails". All the guests were on their feet, participating and immediately, the fund raising had begun! Dinner was delicious and was followed by a speech from one of the Buddies, Lorna Jones - we are trying to get a copy up on the site for everyone to see! We then had a live auction. Companies and individuals were so very generous. It is impossible to list everyone here, but with their generosity with the Live Auction, Silent Auction and the raffle, over £5000 was raised on the night for the various prizes on offer.
Following the auction, our entertainment for the evening was kicked off with No Sleep Til Deptford, a fabulous band who literally rocked the joint! There was much dancing and even some audience participation on stage! Following the band, we danced until midnight to the tunes of the resident DJ.
Such a fantastic night. We are all hoping to do it all again next year & hope to see more of you coming along!!!
